I used to abhor silence! It was borderline violent for me. As I recovered from dis-ease of childhood experiences and adult dysfunction, I began to have a more friendly relationship with myself and it wasn’t so scary anymore. Unfortunately, I had a misunderstanding of mindfulness and meditation, so as I sought to develop a practice for all its wonderful benefits, I felt a failure. In 2016, I was introduced to various meditation techniques and a more realistic expectation of a meditation experience while in India at a Yoga Teacher Training. This began a daily practice and deeper study of mindfulness and meditation.
