I began leading movement in 1986 as an insecure young person with self-esteem issues, body dismorphia and bulimia. It has been a long journey to compassionate movement, which is in alignment with Ahimsa (non-harming, the foundational principle of yoga). Over my 36 years of studying and teaching movement, anatomy & kinesiology, my awareness has opened to the variations in individuals’ experiences and how yoga can meet each body where it is today in lovingkindness. I’ve learned movement doesn’t need to be hard to be effective, it needs to be wise. I believe in healthy, functional posture & balanced flexible strength.
